Hi there! If you’re anything like me—a not-so-morning person—making an elaborate breakfast early in the day isn’t exactly on the agenda. That’s why I love quick, healthy breakfast options that are simple to whip up and still pack a nutritious punch.
Eating breakfast is a great way to start your day. It gives you energy, helps you focus, and can even help you stay healthy in the long run. Studies have shown that eating breakfast can help with weight management and reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease. – Why breakfast is so important
This winter, my go-to has been a cozy bowl of hazelnut chocolate-flavored oats. Oats are not only delicious but also known to help reduce cholesterol, making them the perfect start to your day.
Here’s how you can make this easy 5-minute breakfast!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Oats (flavor of your choice—I’m currently loving the new hazelnut chocolate flavor)
- Milk (your preferred type: dairy or plant-based)
- Honey (for sweetness)
- Fruits: I used strawberries, blueberries, and bananas
- Optional: Nuts for added crunch
How to Make Hazelnut Chocolate Oats in 5 Minutes
- Prepare the Oats:
Use a 2-minute oats pack for convenience. Pour the oats into a bowl and use the package to measure the right amount of milk.- Microwave for 1 minute, stir, then microwave for another minute.
- If you prefer your oats softer, microwave for an additional 10–20 seconds.
- Add Fruits and Sweetener:
Chop your fruits to your preferred size and add them to the oats. Drizzle honey to taste. - Optional Toppings:
For extra texture, toss in a handful of nuts like almonds or walnuts.
Why I Love This Recipe
- Quick and Easy: Perfect for busy mornings when time is limited.
- Healthy and Nutritious: Oats are great for heart health, while fruits add vitamins and natural sweetness.
- Customizable: You can switch up the fruit or even try other oat flavors to keep things exciting.
