2019 Recap; Taking stock & Moving Forward

It’s 8;15 pm 29th of December, 2019 and I am writing this post. 15 minutes earlier I felt like a failure and sad that I did not do much in 2019.

I went on my Instagram page, not sure what I was looking for, tapped a picture and the caption I used was

‘Where ever you are right now
Let it teach you something.
Be kind to yourself
On the journey
And in the process
Of who you are becoming’

MHN

It was a quote by MHN and tears dropped on my cheeks and I continued reading my captions on Instagram and I felt better. Life has a funny way of making our wins look small and I was not going to let that happen to me because in 2019 I WENT THROUGH THE MOST and I DID NOT ONLY SURVIVE BUT I THRIVED!

I am going to be listing some of my wins in this post to remind myself that I am that baddie.

I successfully raised over 100 thousand Naira to buy sanitary products for the IDP women at Durunmi Camp, Abuja.IDP camp -My Experience & What I Want to do For The Women

I participated in a march against abuse on women in Abuja. we marched from the old parade ground to the FCT police headquarters because of the women that were arrested for prostitution and were raped by the police.Abuja Police Raid On Women Protest, What Went Down

I overcame my acne insecurity; I posted a selfie after a year and I started my YouTube channel. starting my YouTube Channel was so refreshing and I hope to be more consistent moving forward.

I got a 9-5 Job and I quit when it was no longer serving me.

I made and kept amazing friends.

I bought myself a new phone & Laptop. My amazing friend got me a camera. They are so important to me because of my blog and career path.

I started an online course on Digital Marketing, I wanted to finish the course before the year ends but 2020 is still part of the journey. we move!

I got my highest paying blog deal ever!

I became financially independent. I am not where I want to be financially but there is progress compared to last year and I am proud of myself.

I surpassed 60,000 views on the blog, thank you for reading and engaging with me. I love you, I appreciate you and your comments warm my heart.

I created The Safe Space Ng.

One thing I have decided to inject in my veins moving forward is that 2020 is part of my journey, it is not a destination, there are a lot of things I need to improve on in 2020 like time management, being disciplined and consistency with everything that I am doing, being more intentional with reaching out to friends and saying NO to what does not add to my growth.

2020 will be a year of intentionality, growth and major moves. I will keep moving, keep creating and keep being myself.

Tell me about your 2019, let it flow. I really want to read about your wins and losses.

Until next time,

Love & Light
