Female Development and Style

Are you expecting your first (second or third) baby? Well, you know your life is about to change but surely in a good way. You and your significant partner are preparing for the late-night feedings, diaper duties, and numerous sleepless nights. In the heat of these all, a babymoon might be what the doctor prescribed.

Never heard of a babymoon?

Well, it simply means the holiday trip couples take at a point in pregnancy before the drama of raising and caring for a new baby starts.

Quite similar to the celebratory honeymoon, consider the babymoon as a victory dance just before the baby arrives.

The popularity of this holiday trip continues to grow because let’s be frank with each other, there are few opportunities for a getaway once the baby arrives, and the months after delivery are usually a rollercoaster.

Your babymoon would be a lot of things rolled into a single trip – you can break free from baby prepping, take out time to take care and indulge yourself, and to connect with your other half romantically.

By now, you should be bursting at the seams with excitement on where to go for your babymoon. Well, we are here to help you with that.

Where to Go for a Babymoon

Not every vacation needs to be super-expensive and crazy glamorous. As you decide where to go for your babymoon, listen to your mind, body, and budget.

It’s not about showing up for the gram; your focus should be on getting utmost enjoyment, relaxation, and fun with your partner. What’s more, the cheap flights on Travelstart has made it easier for you to enjoy a wonderful babymoon on budget.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Tropical Getaway

Do you like the idea of a beach – of resting surrounded by nature with the serene sound of water overlapping and the rush of waves? If Yes, consider taking your babymoon further by going to an all-inclusive resort.

Resorts with babymoon packages, which include massages, prenatal yoga, non-alcoholic drinks, and so much more, are quite popular among expectant mothers. With food and drink, activities, and lodging, all taken care of, you have all the freedom to be taken care of and relax.

Try a New City

Have you and your lover always wanted to visit and explore a new city? Maybe you’ve always wanted to kiss in front of the Eiffel Towers or take walks down Madison streets; then your babymoon is a great time to do this.

Venture out to discover new sights, entertain yourselves with a local event or show, and indulge yourselves with the local food scene.

Go on Water

Going on the water to kick back and relax is a fantabulous idea to spend your babymoon. You could also make waterfront escapes to states like California or Florida.

And with the number of beautiful beaches in Nigeria like the Kamp Ikare, Calabar Beach, La Campagne Tropicana, Eko Tourist Beach, and many others, the sky is your limit. If any of these beaches are outside of your city, easy flight booking on Travelstart has made them more accessible.

A Spa

If you want some heavy-duty pre-arrival pampering, head to the spa. Enjoy your babymoon indulging in massages, facials, and foot soaks – and guess what? All these are more exciting when you do them as a couple with your baby watching from the belly. You’ll leave the spa feeling refreshed, replenished, and fully ready to welcome your beautiful baby into your life.

When Is the Best Time to Take a Babymoon?

Before you leap with any of the ideas we’ve discussed above and book flights on Travelstart, you should first check with your doctor. After 36 weeks of pregnancy, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists discourages air travel. And some doctors can ground you earlier.

However, most often, the second trimester is the best time for a Babymoon. Once you are done with your 12-week scan, you should be good to go. Morning sickness would thankfully be history by then, and you can enjoy your holiday.

Couples should enjoy a vacation at least once a year, and a babymoon is one of the best times to spend together, relaxing and connecting.
