Welcome to the blog, school has been in my way, well thank God for giving me time to write this post.
I’ve been reading a lot about the vagina for a while now, well because my seminar topic was The role of Lactobacilli in the vagina, Lactobacilli is a bacteria that is part of the normal flora of the vagina which means they are bacteria that are supposed to be in the vagina, they are good bacteria in the vagina.
Did I say the my seminar was the reason I read about the vagina? I lied.
The vagina is an interesting part of the female body and it intrigues me so I love knowing a lot about her.
During my research for my seminar, I came across a lot of terrible advice for the vagina, women we’re advised to do a lot of things that will do the opposite of which was promised like douching…
I was angered and irritated by a lot of writers telling women to douche amongst others, be careful where you get your information from, people will do and say anything to get traffic.
Among the misconceptions I saw, I’m going to correcting some and others in this new series on the blog called VAGINA 101. I wanted to start this series a long time ago, it’s finally time. we’ll be discussing a lot about the vagina and how to make our jewel healthy & happy. I’m starting with 3 habits that’s killing your vagina
3 habits that’s killing your vagina
It annoyed the crap out of me when I read online that women should douche, my only regret is that I did not save the link and remember the name of the website so I can create awareness so women will stop reading blogs like that. I’m I overreacting?
What is douching?
The word ”douche” is French for ”wash” or ”soak.” It is a method to wash out the vagina, usually with a mixture of water and vinegar. Douches that are sold in drugstores and supermarkets contain antiseptics and fragrances. A douche comes in a bottle or bag and is sprayed through a tube upward into the vagina – Webmd
You do not need to douche because the vagina cleanses itself, all the unnecessary washing down there will cause a change in the normal Flora & expose the vagina to pathogenic bacteria, it has been reported that women who douche increase their risk of contacting Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), bacteria vaginosis (vagina infections) ,pregnancy complications, & cervical cancer by 70%
Sex – yes! Sex
It has been proved that Sex with multiple partners affects the normal Flora of the vagina which can lead to vagina infections caused by opportunistic & pathogenic microorganisms and of course STD, it’s better to stick with a partner or reduce the number of men you have sex with, when you stick with someone, over time, the vagina Flora adapts to that of the partner.
And having sex with condoms will not reduce the Lactobacilli in the vagina but will support the growth of opportunistic bacteria so all that bullshit about condoms being the best is blah.
Another habit is being overly spontaneous during sex, I mean there’s nothing bad with being spontaneous but you know what they say; too much of everything.. Let me just cut to the chase, having anal sex before vagina sex without changing the condom or proper cleaning which is too much work with the hormones at that moment is terrible, I’ll say have vagina sex before anal sex because going from anal to the vagina will expose your vagina to organisms that are not welcomed there.
Also it’s important to pee and wash with warm water after sex
Scented Vagina Products
I just want to really advise against scented soap, especially if you really have very sensitive skin, washing with scented soaps can cause irritation because of the chemicals (fragrance), if you react easily don’t use scented soaps like Irish spring around your private part area, you might just be welcoming vagina pimples & bumps.
The same goes for scented vagina lotions, vagina sprays, scented pads & the rest. want something more than your normal vagina smell? Use essential oils
I really hope you all have learnt a thing or two about the vagina today? Love this series? Encourage me by letting me know.
Stay gracious smarties
Till next time
But wait, You’ll love
